duke bloom of duke and slims has passed away.
one of the most prominent busineesmman has passed away. Duke Bloom passed away over the weekend, he was the co-owner of Duke and Slims in Lancaster, this icon of the AV sold tv’s for the last 50 plus years, despite competition from gemco, sears, and even wal-mart this Local businessman knew how not only how to sell tv’s during a bad economy, he even prospered during competition!
the funeral for him will be at Desert vineyard church on thursday at 11 AM.
desert vineyard is located in Lancaster at 1011 East AVE I, Lancaster, CA 93535. their phone number is 661-945-2777.

if you want to leave any condolences on this page or have fond memories of Duke Bloom, please feel free to leave them, indeed, he has been on numerous TV spots, Grand Marshal for numerous parades. he will be dearly missed, any business owner in the AV knows it will be hard to fill this man shoes, if ever.

Thank you Duke, for all you did for the Antelope Valley, you were the first locally owned tv business in the AV, in 1959 to introduce Valley resident to color TV, a time i was not even born!

Again, thanks Duke

Jack Unger.

When I walked my dog by his house and he had his dog out we would stop and shoot the breeze. Duke was a dog lover and walker like me. I miss him already.

After buying a home last July, my wife and I went to Duke and Slim’s to price a refrigerator. after a nice salesman showed us a few models Duke came out of the back and helped us personally with choosing the right model for our needs. It was that level of customer service that sold us and we financed right on the spot. Thanks for everything Duke! You will be missed.

I have been in the Palmdale, Lancaster area all of my life. I worked for Duke at one time and it was a pleasure to do so. I learned a lot for him. He will be missed.
