AURORA COLORADO MASS SHOOTING!
I woke up this morning to news reports of a mass shooting at a movie theatre in Aurora Colorado. Reports say 14 people killed and 50 wounded. The gunman was arrested by police at the theatre!
As this story developes , questions will arise as to who the suspect is and why.
Who is the suspect? Is he an Arab terrorist? A teen with a similar Columbine background? A returning veteran with PTSD? Gang related crime? Or a whacked out loaner?
As this story developed, it will be breaking news as to what the motive is.
Prayers and thoughts go out to all the victims.

Preliminary investigation shows the suspect entered the theatre through an exit door near the front of the auditorium wearing a helmet, bullet proof vest, hand guns, and a rifle. The suspect also has a gas mask and threw tear gas grenades in the theatre.

As a parent, the pain of parents of their young sons or daughters killed or injured at a movie premier must be horrible. One report said a young teenage girl was seen unconscious laying on the floor with apparent gunshot wounds to her leg, stomach, and chest. I have an adult teen daughter who loves movie premiers and has gone to them in Lancaster and Palmdale. The movie premieres she has gone to are attended by young teens. I am saddened to think that some parent dropped their teenage daughter at a theatre never to see her again.
I don’t care if the suspect is mentally ill, he needs to be put to death after they extract all information as to why he did this. I am sick of violent mentally ill people who have killed people being treated as victims. They are a danger and need to be put down like dogs. Think about it, would a normal person of sound mind do this, maybe! Terrorist have so much hate in them, are they mentally ill too?

AVBB: Like you, I could care less if the suspect is mentally ill. However, sentencing him to death will ultimately be more costly to the taxpayers than locking him up at the Supermax Prison in Florence, CO where every single inmate is in isolation 23 hours per day for the rest of their natural life. The unabomber and OKC bomber Terry Nichols are life long guests at Supermax.
There are many arguments and investigations into the one and only Supermax prison as being “cruel and unusal” punishment, however, before anyone judges lets make sure they have been a victim of the violence inflicted by one of these terrorists. On at minimum, at least they are a parent.

Been checking out Aurora, C0. gun laws. Seems they are allowed. Perhaps Cinemark bans guns. Had they had armed citizens, this likely would not have happened.

I think psychologically, we’re at the saturation point for violence in this nation. It is glamorized in so many aspects of our culture it is put on a pedestal in the media, movies and video games in particular. Sometimes it rears its ugly head in these types of mass shootings in Colorado and other times it manifests as what happened recently at the Walmart in Jacksonville, Florida. The news reports state that the suspect is 24, which puts him at Ground Zero for what I call “the Grand Theft Auto generation” when the games became virtually realistic. I think we are reaping what we’ve sown and it seems like we have created a huge generation of young sociopaths (look up the definition for yourselves)and that is frightening beyond belief.

To bad there were not some CCW people in tbe theatre. Could have stopped things before it got worse. But most movie goers were younger.
It is easy to Monday Morning Quarterback, but this tupe of attack could happen anywhere; stadiums, malls, schools, churches, and even parades.
Attacks like this happen all over the world, but it hurts more when it happens in our open, free, tolerant society. This is close to the massacre in Scandanavia a couple of years ago.

AVBB: I read and watched reports from the victims that the suspect first threw smoke bombs in the theatre before shooting, so it might have been hard to fire back or see who you were shooting at. (I realize the first reports could be wrong…)

ABC REPORTED 18 minutes after the story broke the shooter is a Tea Party member. Spparently, ABC googled the killers name and found multiple hits on the shooters name. There is a Tea Party member in Aurora with the same name.
I hope ABC did not slander the wrong James Rhodes (?).

That mentality is why this happens. If there would have been some law abiding citizens that had been issued ccw permits, and they were allowed to carry into the theatre, the deaths here could have been reduced.
But with scumbag liberal douches that don’t allow us to protect ourselves, these tragedies happen. The number of deaths here could easily have been prevented, and there are numorous examples that have proven that.
Research counties across the country where ccw permits are issued and compare to countries that don’t issue those permits.
Compare per capita homicide rates of both. I have.

Marino you are correct all it takes is one veteran with a CCW permit and these kind of crimes would not accur or if they did the deaths would be reduced immensely, as it is an unarmed population is always in danger by those that have little respect for life. England and other countries where the population is unarmed are having second thoughts as more and more immigrants with their own cultures (Islam) have taken over and abused the citizens of those countries. It is madness. My heart goes out to all the parents whose children were killed.

Just watch some of the video games that they’ve come out with now. The blood is almost as realistic as what you would see in the trauma center of any major ER. Bloodletting used to be something that was taboo in larger society. Now, the sight of blood is everywhere and we have become numb to it.
It’s interesting that you brought up pornography because there are studies which show that people who are addicted to pornography often become satiated with a certain kind of porn which then becomes “boring”, so they up the ante and move toward porn that is more extreme and more taboo in order to get the hypothalamus to achieve an orgasm.
When you look at modern video games, as I mentioned earlier, you see graphic depictions of blood splattering across your flat screen TV, after the target in the game is shot, that look unmistakable from what you would see if someone literally took a bucket of real blood and tossed it across the front window of your car.
Let’s take your porn analogy and see the parallels. If these graphic and realistic images are so built up to the point that the viewer is satiated but unsatisfied, why stop there? Why not go for real blood then?

The porn example and violent video games do spark a numbness and can arose people. There is a desensitivity in our society. The movies, music, games, porn availability, and lack of respect for life in general is part of our free and open society.
I guess they could have placed tons of cops instead of a few at the theatre, but people would complain about being under a police state.
I remember being in Downtown LA after the Rotney King riots. National Guard was on every corner in groups with assault rifles. It was great. No freaking slugs asking me for money. Nobody talking shit and everyone behaving. It was great. Then the guard left and assholes sprung up and returned to making life miserable for us working stiffs.

Does anyone think about the timing of this? The timing of Columbine. They were trying to pass a gun ban back then too and just two weeks before the vote Columbine happens. Two kids on psychtropic drugs with parents involved in high levels of government/defense industry, who shot video weeks before of the attack on their school? I mean there are drugs out there like amnesiacs that can make a person totally forget what they did or what they are being blamed for.
Remember the Gifford shooting? Just so happens, Gifford and the judge were BOTH investigating Fast and Furious and were gonna come out in a bipartisan way and expose it. We all know what happened there. The guy who did it was on hallucinogens, was telling people he was under mind control prior to the shooting, and was mentally ill. Given the fact that it appears the shooter in the ‘Batman’ massacre had modeled himself on the Bane character in ‘The Dark Knight Rises’ – these quotes from Alex Jones’ recent review of the movie are particularly pertinent.

“To the conscious mind, these symbols don’t register, but to the subconscious they are clear commands – just like you’re a computer.”

I tend to think this Holmes ASS had some rejection issues. We have learned he graduated with honors, and was frustrated he could not find a job worthy of his academic success. (We all know that academic success is overated compared to real world experience, look at Obama and Cybertariat).
Holmes most likely snapped, which is obvious, by the massacre. I am sure he could not handle rejection and angered built up towards those who were just plain happy. The theatre was a target because that is where happy people go. He was miserable, so he killed a lot of people to revenge his sorry ass. His smarts, made him an introvert. Once again, and for the record only, I moved out of my parent’s home in July of 1976 (approximately three weeks after my 18th birthday. Following my father’s death in February of 2005, my mother sold her house which was located in Stallion Springs, California, and I sold my home which was located in Lancaster, California. The two of us – my mother and I – then combined most of the proceeds of those two real estate transactions and then purchased the home that we have owned together since July of 2005. While “doing the math” we find that my mother and I lived apart for some twenty-nine (29) years – from July of 1976 until July of 2005. Furthermore, I did not move into my mother’s home; my mother and I purchased a home, together. It had absolutely nothing to do with economics – with my having simply needed a place to stay. It was a simple matter of my being a good son to my then seventy-five-year-old mother whom had never before lived alone. Nor will my mother ever live alone or exist within some type of “retirement center.”

He doesn’t remember, just like Sirhan Sirhan, and of course nobody is allowed to talk to him. He is a patsy. Eyewitness accounts saw more than one shooter, and there are way too many shell casings for one shooter. You people should research mind sciences, hypnotism, and the study of mind control. Initial FBI assurred us that this was not a terrorist act. The suspect is a 24 white male living in an apartment in Aurora. Thr suspects car has Tennessee license plates.
Anything coming out of the Feds is questionable. If the suspects name is Mohammed, political correctness will rule the day.
If the suspect is a war veteran, George Bush is to blame. If the suspect is a bullying victim, blame Bush.
