MARS: THE FINAL FRONTIER
The Mars lander Curiosity is expected to touchdown on the Red Planet tonight.

After seeing the complexity of the landing, I will give the pencile necks at JPL a standing O if the landing is a sucess

The craft has to slow after surviving 1600 degree temps upon entering the martian atmosphere. A parachute then slows the craft while the heat shield is ejected. Rockets then slow the craft down and use lazers to trigger cables being lowered about 50 feet bringing the car size rover to the surface. Then the craft releases the cables and fires boosters launching the delivery craft away from the rover.

I don’t think it will work. I thought the pillow cushions used in previous landings were far less complex and allowed a greater chance of success

We will see if it works! I hope so but i don’t think so.

av:

did ye notice the video feed of curiosity’s descent as released by JPL – the gub-mnt’ – is low resolution?

know why?

it’s a conspiracy.

a high res video stream would have captured the aliens and their structures. then there’d be no denying!

but only a novice would have referred to the aliens on mars as martians. anybody who knows what they’re talking about knows there are no such thing as martians.

the aliens on mars are the grays and the nordics. they use it as a near-earth base.

LOL!
That landing is tantamount to space aliens landing a probe in the middle of Death Valley of the Sahara.

The last thing NASA wants to see is some Martian scorpion or snake crawl (or slither) in front of the camera. Then again, Curiosity has laser guns that can melt rock, so I’m sure it will zap anything that comes into range.

We’ll be in deep shit if it inadvertently zaps and kills a good Martian citizen. This could be construed as an act of War!
