Putting Americans back to work
The way it seems to be going both the Democrats and the Republicans do not know what they are doing. One party wants to balance the budget on the backs of the public employees and only have 2 classes of people the rich and the poor the other wants to tax everyone out of California so everyone will be poor.

First we need to vote out everyone that are in there for their own party and not for the people of Calif. This can work for both the state and the government.

1. Any and all companies that have left the country for cheaper labor all TAX breaks should stop.

2. To get a job with any company that get more than 10% of their income from taxes should only be able to hire U.S. citizens.

3. Any employer that is caught hiring an illegal that company should be fined $1,000 per day per employee no excuses. That could even mean homeowners that hire their yard work out.

4. All yard Maintance companies would have to be checked out by the county or the city that they work in. This would give the cities more control and would requre a license and make sure that they were all legal to work.

5. English would be the only thing spoken at the work place, and all government business will be done in English and not writen up in 30 other lang. Millions saved just here.

Feel free to add to this list I know that there are a lot more ways to save and put the American people back to work.

Put Tarrifs on all imports. Protect American workers and the American economy.

Give 1/2 of the fine to anyone turning in the employer for hiring ILLEGALS. Bounty hunters always succeed.

They have been driving our roads for years and even the trucking industry has been hurt by it. When things got real bad, prices the illegals having the nerve to march in our streets demanding amnesty pissed off several. Got into conversations at the gas station a lot of times with people bitching. I’ve lost jobs because they wanted to
A. Open up jobs for their relatives.
B. Prevent people who protest about illegal immigration.
C. Attack us in our country for protesting their being here illegally.
All I know is our leaders have sold us out, 50 years ago the national guard would have been called out and the illegals deported at gun point if they had tried to boycott america.NAFTA which is the north american trade agreement with mexico allows them to cross the border with their trucks.

ritcsilv, you’re asking for a miracle.

Jobs would become available and the unemployment rate would drop if immigration laws were simply enforced.

But overall our government caters to special interest, and then you have a percentage of Americans that cater to illegals and/or don’t don’t care what happens.

There are quite a few Congressmen, reps, governors, and mayors that need to be replaced, asap.

Monday, July 26, 2010

In a bid to remake the enforcement of federal immigration laws, the Obama administration is deporting record numbers of illegal immigrants and auditing hundreds of businesses that blithely hire undocumented workers.

The Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency expects to deport about 400,000 people this fiscal year, nearly 10 percent above the Bush administration’s 2008 total and 25 percent more than were deported in 2007. The pace of company audits has roughly quadrupled since President George W. Bush’s final year in office.

The effort is part of President Obama’s larger project “to make our national laws actually work,” as he put it in a speech this month at American University. Partly designed to entice Republicans to support comprehensive immigration reform, the mission is proving difficult and politically perilous.

Obama as border cop: He’s deported record numbers of illegal immigrants

New data suggest that the dramatic rise in deportations for illegal immigrants since 9/11 has continued under President Obama, hitting record levels in 2009.

A parade of states led by Arizona says the federal government is not doing enough to combat illegal immigration. But by one measure – deportations – the federal government is doing more than it has ever done.

In 2009, the United States deported a record 387,790 people – a 5 percent increase over 2008. Nearly two months before the end of the 2010 federal fiscal year, the deportation rate is down slightly from 2009, but the number of removals is still likely to be more than triple what it was in 2001.

The numbers come from a recently released study by Syracuse University in New York. Among the other significant findings: An increasing share of deportees are immigrants who have been convicted of a crime, reflecting President Obama’s desire to reorient the deportation process toward targeting criminals.

Critics of Mr. Obama worry that the focus on criminals could mean a pass for most noncriminal illegal immigrants. They also note that deportation alone does not represent a comprehensive immigration policy. But the deportation trend does run counter to many perceptions in border states and beyond about federal anti-illegal immigration efforts.

“We have never, ever deported so many people from the country as we are doing now,” says Douglas Massey, an immigration expert at Princeton University in New Jersey.

The only other time deportations came close to existing levels was in the early 1930s, during quasi-official deportation campaigns against Mexicans. Expulsions peaked at 136,000 in 1931 and "were done primarily by local officials and don’t show up in federal statistics on deportations,” Professor Massey says.
Behind the rise: 9/11

The current deportation boom began in the mid-1990s and accelerated after the 9/11 attacks. Since coming into office, Obama has begun to recast this trend.

In 2008 and 2009, for instance, the majority of removals were people who had not been convicted of any crime, according to US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) data. Through Aug. 2, 51 percent of the 294,230 people deported or forced out this fiscal year were convicted criminals.

The report by the Transactional Records Access Clearinghouse at Syracuse is based on ICE data. It comes as the Obama administration endures strong criticism from state lawmakers and conservative pundits who say the federal government has done little to clamp down on illegal immigration and to secure the border.

In April, Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer signed a law that required local police, during the course of their normal duties, to determine the immigration status of potential illegal immigrants. Last month, a federal judge put this and other controversial parts of the law on hold, although some portions became effective July 29.

The Syracuse report is a rebuke to those backing Arizona-style laws, says Gregory Chen, director of advocacy for the American Immigration Lawyers Association: “It’s a perfect example of how those allegations are based really only in politics.”
Obama too focused on criminals?

But others say the Syracuse report doesn’t tell the full story. Removals may be on the rise, but they are not enough to rein in illegal immigration, says Ira Mehlman, a spokesman with the Federation for American Immigration Reform.

“The problem isn’t just criminal aliens, it is a general lack of respect for our laws, and even noncriminal aliens do have a significant impact on state budgets, on unemployment, on all sorts of things.”

Mr. Mehlman says the efforts to remove criminals is a tactic designed to promote an eventual amnesty for illegal immigrants who don’t commit crimes.

The report, however, suggests that a focus on criminals does not necessarily lead to a criminals-only policy. The report singles out the Secure Communities program – which relies on fingerprints from arrests – as one way the federal government can cast a wider net. The program targets not just suspects in serious crimes such as homicide, kidnapping, and sexual assault but also those arrested for traffic violations and a variety of other minor offenses.

The database-driven program is “a very large contributor to the increase in criminal aliens ICE has identified,” says Vincent Picard, an agency spokesman.

Secure Communities was launched in October 2008 and plans are to implement it in every jail by 2013.

Some say the continued rise in deportations may be Obama’s way of trying to win over critics and make his version of comprehensive immigration reform more palatable to opponents.

“The administration is trying to gain credibility – with enhanced enforcement, troops to the border, and by other measures – to make clear it is taking action on immigration,” says Jack Chin, a University of Arizona law professor.

Illegal immigrant deportations up under Obama

The Obama administration is deporting more illegal immigrants than the Bush administration did, according to new figures released by Immigration and Customs Enforcement and analyzed by Syracuse University’s data research project TRAC.

According to the Transactional Records Access Clearinghouse (TRAC) data, during the first nine months of federal fiscal year 2010 – that would be Oct. 1, 2009 to June 30, 2010 – 279,035 illegal immigrants were either deported or left voluntarily. That compares with 254,763 during the same period in 2008 and 141,837 during the same period in 2005.

Much has been made in recent months about whether the Obama administration has been enforcing the nation’s immigration laws. Gov. Jan Brewer has said the main reason she supported Arizona’s tough new immigration law – gutted last week in the first round of court actions – was because the federal government wasn’t doing its job in combating illegal immigration.

And during an interview on Fox News Sunday, former Alaska governor and Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin said that Obama didn’t have the “cojones” to enforce immigration laws so states like Arizona had to take matters into their own hands.

Obviously, “illegal immigration” has become the buzz word for the social ‘divas’ of the Right’s political world — which is ‘old news’ becuz there isn’t any work – even for the illegals.

The Right’s Movie Stars likes to beat the dead horse, because they have nothing else to offer but discourse.

Has nothing to do with Governing, and a lot about causing more chaos.

meanwhile…..No self-respecting Republican wants to admit just how many illegal guns are sold world-wide, and how this underground economy is destroying the moral fabric of not only this society but others. That’s not a factor they say – it’s a right.

Well, if it’s right, live with it.

Look guys, right or left the illegals in this country are:
1. Taking jobs that americans want this is a fact.
2. They commit crimes here, but the media only reports the high profile cases.
3. If their excuse for being here is they “do the jobs americans won’t”, then why so many on welfare?
4. They committed the first crime by breaking our immigration laws, I and you all have to obey all the laws. So why should they get a pass?
This isn’t a right or left cause, its issue we as americans need to deal with together. And as long as we as a people are so divided the real leaders (the rich corperations) will continue to govern us.Illegals cause wage depression and undermines the people who can least afford the unfair competition. I mean the poor and working poor who have long been affected by the flood of illegals to this land.Cyberfool keeps talking about the worker’s paradise etc etc but he forgets about us the poor. @marino: Everyone agrees there are too many ‘illegals’ in this country, on the dole — but they all aren’t Mexicans! The Right tends to focus on the closest minority country, instead of focusing on the big picture, which are also many other nationalities that are on the take.

Until foreign-owned corporations are taxed accordingly for the cheap-alien labor they bring in through international work permits, who then import their relatives with host-family status – then get them on taxpayer funded welfare programs, none of this is going to stop.

Pricing out the cost of deporting illegals of all nationalities should be analyzed – and those abusing the system should be taxed accordingly.

There’s a huge population in the jails that can’t vote, but they are “represented” in their districts, which allows more representatives qualifying for that district. Isn’t it curious, that most of these in jail are either black or hispanic? Therefore, they cannot vote. Then you get the whites, who are in there too – who have some bogus felony for a drug charge, who cannot vote even if they’ve paid their dues in jail and are out.

The system is screwed up.

Giving Amnesty to those who circumvent the law with bogus ‘licenses’, perhaps in their 3-year old’s name becuz their ‘citizens’ is wrong. Is that specific SS# attached with the age of that person, contributing to the economy? If they are below the Federal mandated age requirement of 16, then bust ’em for child labor.

Questioning why the state a)has dentists when it could easily be outsourced much more cost effectively b) why, even with OT, a dentist working for the gov’t makes even close to that…I regularly pull 50 plus hour weeks with no OT, and I am not complaining; 3) why these dentists have no overhead and no malpractice insurance to worry about.
This is not misinformation; it is fact. 330K isn’t rich; it is just too much money for a service that could and should be done at far less dough. And yes, it is easy to hide. No one sees your IRA. ;)

American, I love your passion…but even our Founding Fathers created a government. It is supposed to be of and by the people, which is what I wish for. But the total absence of government would be anarchy. You don’t want that, do you?

How about just some common sense on behalf of our leaders? Truman and Ike were the last two presidents that acted on what is good for americans. Ike with his “Operation Wetback”, to deport illegal aliens and open up jobs for americans.

This state alone spendsup around 80,000 to keep one prisoner in prison and less than 6500 to educatate a child. What we should do is turn our schools into prisons and the prisons into schools.
It costs the schools 225,000 a year to have one officer sitting on a campus.
I sent a letter to the Runners a few years back that we should put the prisoners out into the fields and let them pick the onions and what ever else that needs to be picked across the state. Never heard a thing from them. Shreiff Joe does it and they have the work farms in the south if you think that they would run put chains on them.

ritcsilv that sounds like a good plan, put the illegal aliens to work who commit crimes and sooner or later they get the message its time to leave the USA. But until we take away the profit employers make hiring illegals, the problem isn’t going to go away.
