Chic Fil A
I would love to have a Chic fil A here in lancaster. And even more than that would love to see Rex Parris in the headlines of the AV Press welcoming chic fil a to the Antelope Valley. I think that would put the AV on a lot of news channels across the country.
thedjguy says...
Quoted from Larry Elder Fri. August 3rd AV press
“Chick-fil-A President and COO Dan Cathy faces a consumer protest for expressing his opposition to same sex marriage, Fair enough. Offended, the Democratic mayors of Boston, Chicago and San Francisco threatened to prevent the Georgia-based fast food company from operating in their cities. Whether for or against same sex marriage, what part of the First Amendment do these radical mayors not understand? The First Amendment is about preventing government from infringing on political speech. This is a clear cut case of supression and punishment of Cathy’s right of free speech.” and the story goes on. I just find it ironic this story appears and the fact of Lancaster counsul meetings always start with a prayer. There is always a nut (my opinion) out there who does not want anything to do with religion and instead of just not saying anything they go to extremes and are trying to silence religion. I thought it would really be a great Opportunity for Lancasters Mayor to endorse Chic-fil-A and welcome the restraunt chain to the Antelope Valley. Besides I like their food.

I knew nothing of it until the recent news. Looks like all the talk of boycotting has backfired. They seem to be busyer than ever. Politicians need to stay out of it.
Gay extremists wanting to do a kiss-in at Chick-Fil-A’s isn’t going to help their cause.
BTW, the nearest one is in Santa Clarita. I will be investing there next time I’m around.

Personally, I really don’t care whether gays are aloud to get married or not. But for Rahm Emanuel to insist that a business not be allowed in Chicago because the opinion of the business’ owner is different from his own, is quite Orwellian. Emanuel deserves to be tarred and feathered for his attack on the first amendment.
Chick-Fil-A boycott = Epic Fail!

Mr. dual citizenship Emanuel should not be allowed to hold any office in the US. Really, which nation is his loyalty owed to? Israel who tried to sink the most highly decorated US warship in naval history, or the US? I never knew Rahm was gay.
About Chic-Fil-A kiss-in, people should show up on the same day and take all the seats before these rainbow clowns can get there. A little old fashioned intimidation ought to throw a proper monkey wrench too.

The left so over reacted to Cathy’s comments. By protesting Cathy and his restaurants, the liberal mayors sounded far worse in their responses which were more along the lines of intimidation.
As for same sex msrriage, I don’t agree with it, however, I would not lose sleep if it became legal. What upset me mote was watching the will of the people get overturned by the Ninth Circuit over Prop 8.
Gays are not victims of civil rights violations. They like to think they are, but they have plenty of freedoms.

AVBB while I care not who or what marries each other, I am offended by those that tell me that I have to think, act, talk and dress as they do and I care little even less for political leaders who attempt to suppress and take away our freedom. I was never relieved of the oath I took to defend this nation from enemies foreign and domestic.

I agree. The mayors all ate crow instead of chicken.

Chic Fil A has excellent food and it is georgia based, the support given to Chic Fil A showed that the american people won’t be told where to eat,in fact those idiots help make hundred of thousands of dollars for Chic Fil A, I know several people who now eat there as a result of the publicity.

but were they married? sounds like they were shacking up together.
be careful what you ask for when you claim affinity for “traditional” or “biblical” marriage.
no divorce.
and a brother has an obligation to marry his brother’s wife if his brother should die.
just to name two biblical marriage commands.
if the gays were smart, they wouldn’t ask for gub-mnt’ recognized marriage. instead, they’d fight to get gub-mnt’ out the marriage business, which they originally got into to keep separate races from marrying. (gub-mnt’ = oppression)
marriage is the purview of the church. not gub-mnt’. and if, for example, the unitarian church wishes to conduct same-sess marriage ceremonies, so what. it doesn’t affect me, my life, my liberty, or my pursuit of happiness one iota.
busy body nanny staters need to mind their own business. people like rick – catholic caliphate, taliban-light american style – santorum.

MVRWC: You are reaching real far with your previous thread.
Another reach is your Santorum Taliban comment.
I love how the left associates anyone who disagrees with a Liberal lifestyle CHOICE is associated with truely evil groups or people.
Most Libs love the Taliban. I have not ever read any comments from Libs objecting to the Taliban murdering women, gays, and people of other religions. And don’t forget being killed for minor trangressions against Islam. Christians tend to jump to the defense of the victims of the Taliban long before Libs do. Christians like Santorum would probably fight to protect any of the groups killed by the Taliban quicker than any Liberal would.
Like I have said many times. Liberals lack the will to fight are true enemies. They would rather point fingers at our government because they know they won’t be butchered.
I love how the Libs rank Occupy with the Iranian protestors. There is no comparison.

mr. avbornbred,
i characterized santorum as taliban-light, american style.
santorum wishes not to stone people for their sins, nor murder women, gays, or other religions.
rather, he has no problem passing laws and building cages to hold people in who have committed no crime – meaning, there is no victim.
use drugs the gub-mnt’ declares as illegal? in a cage you go.
pay for sex? in a cage you go.
in santorum’s world, legal sex is consentual or by barter.
by barter i mean there is no cash exchanging hands, but the sess occurs after dinner and a movie.
if two adults wish to trade sess for cash – or check or credit card – they are committing a crime.
who’s getting hurt, other santorum’s sensibilities?
this is what i mean by taliban-light, american style. the activity in question brings no harm to anyone, but yet, is illegal.
at least the likes of rick – taliban-light american style, catholic caliphate – santorum should be honest and when saying the pledge of allegiance, omit the word “liberty” as in “liberty and justice for all.”
because santorum just does not believe in liberty. he believes in outlawing immoral behavior.
and i think the taliban are not nice people whose rule i would not wish to live under. nor do i wish it upon anybody.

mr. avbornbred believes that the more federal government sanctions against sinning citizenry in the form of putting them in debtors or sin prisons for life, the more those who are undesirable to mr. avbornbred will obey his commandments.
people who eat a large amount of fried foods and genetically modified foods that walmart will be selling from monsanto, the more unhealthy they will get and without health insurance will be sure to die young.
this is a very strange marketing plan from chic-fil-a to attract a certain kind of customer. maybe this is their way of proving that most americans don’t care what they eat even if it kills them.

oh wait, i stand corrected. i just referenced my bible.
Jesus went to rome, obtained a lobbying license and then registered as a lobbyist and lobbied the roman senate for strict moral laws.
and then Jesus went to work as a police officer and arrested people who committed sins.
and before he healed the sick, he had a lengthy questionaire the potential healee must submit too, upon which, depending upon the answer, would determine whether or not the healee deserved mercy.
some of the questions include:
are you a homosexual?
do you currently use any drugs outlawed by the controlled substances act as passed by the roman senate?
have you ever engaged in prostitution? whether the whore or the john?
any many many more too.
and since under law, in the discharge of his duties, Jesus was entitled to lie during his investigation, if the potential healee answered wrong, Jesus would hook ’em and book ’em.
Later, Jesus became a traffic cop. i know what you are thinking. there were no automobiles then.
he enforced the speed limit law for camels.
the speed limit signs did not read a MPH. duh. roads were designated a walk zone, a trot zone, or a gallop zone.
Jesus would hide under a tree in the shadows, partially obscured by a bush or rock and wait for that scofflaw to gallop his camel through a trot zone and then spring into action, and issue a citation which accompanied a hefty fine.
of course, as Jesus would tell the camel rider, it is all about their safety, not the reveune.
and do not buy the malarky about Jesus turning water into wine. you’re reading the wrong bible.
Jesus was a strict prohibitionist. wine had been outlawed, thanks in large part to Jesus’ lobbying efforts in rome.
it’s all true.
and Jesus loved war, too.
he never met a military expenditure or a foreign adventure he didn’t like.

Liberals are getting a dose if reality. This week alone with Ted Cruz in Texas and Chic-Fil-A.
How is the 99% and Occupy doing?

larry,
the mental health establishment told me i cannot be helped and as long as i am not a threat to myself or others, i’m free to go.
at first i wasn’t free to go. how do i know? i axed.
i said, “am i being detained, or am i free to go?”
the mental heath professional said, “not only are you being detained, you’re being committed to a mandatory 72 hour hold.”
but after the 72 hours, i was free to go. so i left.
i was considering acting crazy so i would be deatined longer in hopes of using the experience to write a screen play. then i realized this had already been done.

not crazy. just enjoy creative writing, and fun, and humor, and irony, and metaphors.
but you are free to think i believe much of what i write, if you so please.
the genre i enjoy most is what i call “non-fiction/fiction.”
some of it is true, other parts ain’t. it is up to the reader to discern between the two.
word to the wise: fact is stranger than fiction, so don’t be fooled. often times it is the mundane which is the fiction and the outrageously difficult to believe that is fact.
mr. avbornbred:
care to discern which parts of the following statement is true and which parts ain’t?

Showing my ignorance here, what the hell is Chic fil a? I know it’s a restaurant. But I want to know a little bit more. Why it’s so popular.
